ARTIST STATEMENT
Creating is an expression of my conscious and subconscious thoughts towards life, the internal urge to make sense of the external things. Presently working on pieces that are combination of different perception, locations and environments to form a cohesive unit on a small and large scale; from the usage of my own photographic images.
Within that cohesive assemblage the similarity of separate ideas convey the correlation between all things that contributed to make it a whole. The segments of industrial areas that are now vacant are all landscapes explored. Structures that are vast but only thought about in a small percentage during our daily lives, are things that shape my outlook and motivate me to create. All landscapes emite an atmospheric feeling from the light, shadows and weather; repetitive patterns that can be found in diverse regions. However an atmospheric feeling can be manufactured based on the attention paid to region’s maintenance or its dilapidation. The result of those things in what it actually means when it’s seen and overlooked are ideas I want to explore. In the recent years the gravitation in the direction of social and environmental aspects are becoming a niche to draw ideas from. Motivation stems from a multitude of things from the movement of society, interpersonal situations, Industrialization and a long list of other things merged together. The constant observation and analyzing of notions able me to attempt to understand function and grasp concepts and that drives my art developing process. A major focus and relative feature in the things I craft are architecture structures to represent fundamental concepts.
The division of printed photographic images, captured then rearranged, and pasted are materials used to convey the above ideas. Creating pieces that express my thoughts and feelings, also to be misunderstood or understood and eventually thought provoking, are my worthy goals.
